I can't believe this myth is still going around. No, the Hall's don't belong to the WTBS and they don't get the money. It goes to the local congrgation. Been there too many times when they've been sold, whether you like or not this stuff is simply not true.

to the next here in the dallas area (hey you current jw's in dallas, those lambs and flyers were from me!
) and was shocked to find the congregation i attended with my family, central/white rock, is now some oriental temple!

if these were to be sold for any reason, where would the profits go to.

I can't believe people still get this wrong. If a Kingdom Hall is sold the profits go to the local congregation or congregations that own it. It's always been that way and it still is. I've seen several sold, including one recently and that's the way it is. You need to stop beating this particular dead horse.

The funniest thing that's been said defending Clinton is concerning his great work on the Israeli/Palestinian situation. Wow, we can all see how well that worked. I'd say that's about on a level with the rest of his accomplishments.
Many knowledgeable people in the field say that Clinton's glory seeking actually made the situation worse.

Aren't the elders supposed to visit df'd ones?

i thought that elders made it a point to visit df'd ones like 1 a year to see if they've thought about coming back, etc.
don't get me wrong, i'm happy they haven't come to see me.

It is supposed to be once a year. Every congregation is supposed to keep a list of disfellowshipped ones in their territory and call on them once a year to enquire if they want to make attempts to come back. Generally there's no discussion of the individual's current situation, someone is just assigned to do it. Some COs, but not all, ask about this and want to know who has been called on. In many congregations though, this pretty much falls through the cracks.

I think you're missing the intent here. They're trying to produce better public readers, and for sure that's something that is seriously needed. This way the student doesn't have to concentrate on anything other than reading.
Admittedly,the fact that this has to be done speaks volumes.

Clinton one of the greatest presidents??!!?? Please tell me you're joking. He accomplished nothing, he diminished the office more than any other single individual in history, he made the US a laughingstock on the international scene. He'll be bottom five at best, except of course in the rankings of liberal academia. But, I'll bet even the left disavows him in a few years.
